Bourne One 22
Varlion’s Bourne One is a powerful entry-level racket with an “oversized” diamond shape and is perfect for those of you who are sad about renting rackets, but who are still looking for an affordable and easy-to-play padel racket that also gives you power in the strokes, wonderful feel and perfect for the beginner who is looking for more power in his game.
The reason for this is that the racket is incredibly stable and always gives you confidence in every shot. With its medium height balance together with its “oversized diamond shape” you also get the opportunity to add power to the shots as you more easily get some weight behind the ball which can help you accelerate.
CORE & SURFACE
The frame of the racket is made of fiberglass to create a forgiving failure throughout the racket and to be able to easily put the ball into motion. Also on the surface you will find fiberglass to create a nice bounce on the ball and give you control. The core of the racket is soft to give you a comfortable bounce on the ball which also gives you a bigger sweet spot.
Just like in all of Varlion’s rackets, the Bourne One also has holes that are drilled in different sizes, something that Varlion calls Gradual Holes. This means that the holes are made smaller in the middle so that you can have as much hitting surface under the ball as possible and then made larger the closer they get to the frame. The reason for that is that you as a player will get a larger sweetspot, regardless of model, and a more forgiving feel.
Also unique to Varlion rackets is the way the safety strap is attached to the handle itself instead of the knob. This means that the safety belt is more or less impossible to tear off.
If you are instead looking for a slightly lighter racket, we recommend the LW One Woman. The racket protector is shipped seperate from the racket. Super easy to attach at home.
Our rackets weigh between 340 g - 370 g.
